Spiritual Growth

Bereavement

Bereavement team members provide understanding, empathy and caring for those in the parish who are grieving the loss of a loved one.  A member of the team is available to meet with the family to help arrange the Vigil Service, the Mass of Resurrection, and to coordinate graveside services. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

Bible Study

Bible study is offered twice yearly (spring and fall), in morning or evening sessions.  Teaching and sharing are a part of every meeting. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

COR of California

COR is a retreat-type weekend experience for young adults aged 16 – 22 to help them develop a mature and healthy relationship with God and family.  Adult volunteers are always welcome to support this program. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

Prayer Ministry

Centering Prayer - This is a method of prayer developed by Abbot Keating where a person prays by letting go of thoughts and centering on God.  Introductory workshops are offered periodically through the year.  The group meets daily at 8:00 am in the Day Chapel and Thursday evenings in Jr. Building (check weekly calendar in the bulletin).  Meetings are at 7:00 pm. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

Queen of Peace Prayer Community

This ministry, built on the power of prayer and especially the Rosary, meets in the Damien Chapel each Thursday evening at 6:45 pm.  The Rosary is followed by a Mass at 7:30 pm, which is offered for the cause of peace and salvation throughout the world.  The group actively supports parish projects.  Please join us and introduce yourself.

Small Church Communities

Small Church Communities facilitate spiritual growth through prayer and scripture based faith sharing in an intimate and nonjudgmental environment.  Each community is dedicated to connecting their faith life to real life by becoming integrated Catholics who live in the church and go to the world.  Each community (group) meets bi-weekly, alternating meetings in the homes of its members. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
