Altar Servers are young people who assist the priests at the celebration of the Eucharist on Sundays, holy days, weddings, funerals and other parish celebrations. Boys and girls may begin serving when they have received First Eucharist and are in fifth grade or higher. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Children’s Liturgy of the Word offers six to nine year-old children the opportunity to hear God’s word and take part in a homily adapted for children. The homily is given by people trained to break open the word for children. Children are dismissed with their leaders following the greeting and return to the assembly for the Eucharist.
Schedule: The Children’s Liturgy occurs on Sundays at
the
Eucharistic Ministers help distribute the Holy Eucharist at the Liturgy. They also bring the Body of Christ to infirm and homebound parishioners. Special training is required for this important ministry of immense love. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
Hospitality
Hospitality ministers reach out
with a welcoming spirit of inclusion to all our brothers and sisters in
Christ. Ministers of all ages serve as
greeters and ushers at liturgies and provide information to newcomers and
parishioners at a Welcome Table after
Lectors
Lectors are men and women who proclaim the Word of God to the assembly at Sunday and holy day liturgies. There is special training and a mentoring process. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
This committee develops liturgical rites that foster
spiritual and joyful worship of our God.
The primary focus is to encourage full, conscious, active participation
of the assembly in all liturgical celebrations.
It is composed of parish liturgical ministers, deacons and other
interested parishioners, upon invitation. Contact:
Liturgical Ministries at Holy Name of Mary are enlivened by the many choirs and diversity of music that assist in the celebrations, adding a quality of joy and enthusiasm to worship. New members, both vocalists and instrumentalists, are always invited to join.
