In 1965 the Fr. Thomas Lyons Council was formed to serve the Holy Name of Mary Parish Community. Over the years this Council has donated many volunteer hours working in Ministries and on special events for the parish, as well as financing numerous projects for the parish and sponsoring activities for the youth. Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to Catholic men who are at least 18 years old. Applications are available from any member of the Knights of Columbus. Girl Scouts
Girl Scouting is lots of fun! It helps girls develop meaningful values, relate well with others and develop their full potential. Girls are encouraged to develop and use their abilities and leadership skills. Please look at the troops listed below for more details:
Daisy Girl Scout Troop #311 includes girls in Kindergarten and 1st grade. Brownie Girl Scout Troop #337 includes girls in 2nd and 3rd grades. There are several Junior Girl Scout Troops that can include girls in 4th, 5th and 6th grades. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
Cadette Troop #321 and Junior Troop #361 Our doors are always open to new girls wanting to join. Girls from 5 different schools currently make up these troops. Holy Name of Mary Youth Ministry seeks to create a true faith community in which our youth will become an active and meaningful part of our parish and local communities. The Youth Ministry will be holistic in nature by nurturing the spiritual, social, cultural and developmental aspects of the young person’s life. In addition to the youth’s growth within the Catholic experience, it also offers them the opportunity to integrate these principles into daily living; living every day as a Christian. Finally, opportunities for leadership through shared responsibility with adults will be an integral part of the youth’s experience.
